We are finding that more & more vendors running M2 sites are seeking our expert advice because their incumbent developer / agency is struggling with launching their site and / or the latest Magento upgrades. Absolute is an Adobe Bronze Solutions Partner and supports over 30 clients on the M2 platform. As such we are familiar with the pitfalls of Magento upgrades and in particular the recent upgrades from 2.3.7 (and even lower versions) to 2.4.2-2.4.3p2 that we mentioned in an earlier insight article here.
The team at Powerful, who design, manufacture and supply parts and accessories for 4x4 vehicles to both B2C and B2B customers, approached Absolute because they had ‘offshored’ their Magento design & build, but wanted Absolute to audit their site, upgrade to the latest M2 version and then launch the site.
Having agreed our PCI responsibilities, we set about auditing the site, with a senior front end and back-end developer each providing detailed insight in terms of the build quality, any issues that needed resolving, plus recommendations for improvements of modules and performance.
Following the audit, we onboarded Powerful into our support service, setting up their dev server and then upgrading the site from 2.4.2 p2 to 2.4.3. Next, we migrated the site onto a Sonassi hosting server and undertook a scope of improvements including ERP testing, ROW Module install, Out of Stock Notifications and New Stock Alerts.
Finally, we launched the site for the client, including a detailed test plan for their bespoke functionality and SEO redirects, followed by post launch additions of a CDN (Cloudflare) and Sansec security scans to ensure the site remains robust.
