When we test a new website we generate a lot of data, and some of this test data includes lots of fake customers and orders
But before the website goes live we want to clear all this test data out so that any subsequent reporting isn't incorrectly skewed and to ensure order IDs are consistent.
However, Magento doesn't allow you to remove orders from the backend and certainly doesn't let you reset the IDs. So, in order to resolve this we run the following SQL queries to reset everything back to its default state:
