About the eCommerce Awards

Now in it’s 17th year, the eCommerce Awards is one of the most prestigious awards gala in the ecommerce industry, recognising innovation, creativity and commitment to to performance. This event brings together brands and agencies in the commerce space to honour their achievements.

This year, we were selected as finalists for our work on the latest app upgrade for Brompton Bike Hire in the Best Cross-Border Rollout and Best B2C App categories. In past years, we’ve been finalists and winners in categories such as Best B2B Website Launch and Best eCommerce Support.

App development for Brompton Bike Hire

Because BBH decided to launch their service to the French market to coincide with the Paris Olympics, their application needed to support multi-currency transactions which their current system did not accommodate. The existing application was built on an outdated framework, resulting in increased vulnerabilities to security attacks, support challenges, and performance problems.

In addition to the upgrade of Laravel, October CMS & PHP, we also integrated the ‘Paris’ project, which enabled the application to support multilingual functionality in both English and French and handle multiple currencies beyond GBP. This implementation enhanced the security of the Brompton Bike Hire app and modernised it according to current web development standards. 

As a result, BBH can now communicate and launch their application in more countries and regions around the world. Expanding their reach and enhancing user experience for a wider audience.
